What we do

Pick the job you need and call the number on that page.

Done right the first time

The job gets sized up properly, the right materials get used, and it holds up after we leave.

Experienced handymen

Work goes to people who do that trade every week — not whoever happens to be free.

Honest work and pricing

Describe the job on the phone and get a realistic number before anyone comes out.

How it works

  1. 1

    Call or send the details

Tell us what needs doing. A photo or two gets you a closer number than a paragraph will.

  2. 2

Get a price and a time

You know what it costs and when someone is coming before any work starts.

  3. 3

    It gets fixed

The right person for that trade turns up and finishes it — usually in a single visit.

Why repairs here are their own thing

Red clay under everything

Piedmont clay swells when wet and shrinks when dry. That is why fence posts lift, deck footings settle and interior doors that closed fine in January start rubbing in July.

Humidity, pollen and pines

Long humid summers keep exterior wood damp enough to rot at sills, thresholds and deck ledgers. Spring pollen and year-round pine needles fill gutters faster than most people expect.

Two generations of housing

Newer builds across Apex and Cary bring nail pops, builder-grade fixtures and aging exteriors. Older homes near downtown and across Durham bring plaster, sash windows and crawlspaces.

Questions people ask before they call

What does a handyman visit cost?

Most local handymen work either on an hourly rate with a minimum of an hour or two, or on a flat price for a defined job. What moves the number is access, how much material is needed, and whether existing finishes have to be matched. Describing the job on the phone gets you a realistic figure before anyone comes out.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes, and grouping them is the way to do it. A single mounted shelf is an expensive way to buy an hour of someone’s time. Four or five small tasks in one visit costs far less per job because the travel and setup are shared.

How soon can someone come out?

It depends on the job and the season — exterior work is busiest in spring and fall. Small interior jobs usually schedule fastest. If you have a fixed deadline, such as a closing date or a move-out inspection, say so at the start and it will be scheduled around it.

What if I am not sure what is wrong?

Describe what you are seeing and send a photo — that is usually enough to work out what the job actually is. Plenty of calls start with a stain on the ceiling or a door that will not shut properly rather than a diagnosis.

Do you handle both inside and outside work?

Yes. Drywall, painting, mounting, fixtures, floors and doors inside; decks, fences, siding, trim and gutters outside. If it is on the list of services it gets booked, and one visit can cover both.

Which areas are covered?

Apex, Cary, Morrisville and Durham, plus Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, New Hill and the western edge of Raleigh. If you are just outside that ring, it is worth asking rather than assuming.
